2005 Resolutions - End of Year Update
I made 7 New Year's Resolutions in 2005. Here's how I did.
Get $1,500 in my savings account (started with $10)
That little job I landed at Yahoo! has done wonders for my bank account. Don't you worry about me, I'm doing just fine...
Open a second savings account with a credit union so I can't easily access (i.e. spend) my money
If by "credit union" you mean Toyota Credit and by "saving" you mean paying several hundred dollars a month to pay off the Prius - then yes.
Update my website more frequently
When I made this resolution, I was working at a job where I could spend the majority of my day updating JennChantal.com. Unfortunately, that's no longer the case. Apparently, there's an inverse relationship between the amount of money in your paycheck and the amount of time you can spend f'ing around during work. So while I apologize for the three day delays for posts in Q3 and Q4, until I can make more than $1693.62 through this blog - you are just going to have to deal with it.
Start jogging Do yoga Do Something (does typing count?)
Q4 showed a major decline in 2005 exercize output. Thankfully, the scale hasn't noticed.
Do more freelance work Make more money
Done. Now I need to work on the inverse - spend less money. Somehow, it seems the more money I make the more I spend.
Take 1st place in a 4th Street Poker Tour game
2005 expenditures on the 4th Street Poker Tour came to $1080 in 52 games. Total revenue equals $610 with eight money finishes. Overall, I'm down $470. And though I came in 2nd twice in 2005, I just can't seem to get the elusive 1st place win. But I will.
Start listening to more music - not rap or pop, but music
I was doing really well with my indie rock and cool as folk Yahoo! Music streams through Messenger. But in the past few months I've forgotten to turn it on in the mornings which means that most days I work in complete silence.
So for those of you keeping track, I didn't actually meet any of my original goals for 2005. Sounds about right...
