(04-17) 12:16 PDT HAYWARD -- Hayward teachers will return to the bargaining table with district officials this afternoon to try to resolve the strike that has paralyzed that city's schools for a fourth school day.
Fewer than 4,600 of Hayward Unified's 21,800 pupils showed up for class on Monday, said Superintendent Dale Vigil, who has left phone messages for parents asking them to send their children to school.
Striking teachers, meanwhile, claim that elementary students at Lorin Eden Elementary watched the Jerry Springer Show in class as their substitute teacher read a newspaper, and that children at Harder Elementary played endless games of "hangman."

Harder Elementary has so many awful connotations although not as many as Easy Jr. High.

Hey Will, believe it or not, but Jeff and I actually went to a school called Basic High School.

It's just a basic diploma, not a fancy one.
