And The Winner Is...

Dear Fans,

It's been an exciting past few weeks as fans from all across the country worked feverishly to create art inspired by JennChantal.com. Before I announce the winner, I would like to thank everyone who took the time to personally reflect on the importance of this site and create wonderful works of art based on it.

And for all of you procrastinating deadbeats that claimed you'd not only enter the contest, but had the winning idea, and then NEVER SUBMITTED A THING - you are dead to me. Sure, sure - you can't rush art...well, RUSH THIS, BITCHES!

Whew! Deep, cleansing breath...

So, without further ado, I'm delighted to announce the winner of the 2005 Art Imitates JennChantal contest. Kristen of Studio Kristen fame, beloved sister and web designer extraordinaire, submitted the most creative and inspired art project of them all. Please, no cries of nepotism. Kristen really took the time to understand the core doctrines and beliefs of JennChantal.com when she developed "The Stars Tell All: Official JennChantal Sightings" Flash animation.

For all her hard work, Kristen will receive a $30 gift certificate to iTunes. Congratulations, sista girl!

I'd also like to announce that Aletha of Los Feliz, beloved former roommate and health educator extraordinaire, has won the Most Creative for a Non-Creative Type Award for her submission. Aletha chose to put pen to paper (or fingers to keys) to create a running diary of her personal thoughts and reactions while reading JennChantal.com ever since this contest was announced. Basically, she created a blog of the JennChantal blog. Very clever. Which reminds me - who is starting the official JennChantal fan-site web-ring? Anyhow, click here to download her missive.

Because she broke through the creativity barriers, Aletha will receive a $10 Starbucks gift card. Unless she doesn't like coffee, in which case, I'll just buy her a salad the next time we have lunch.

And finally, I'd like to give a special shot out to DadChantal for his movie review inspired haiku. Though he wins nothing but the extreme pleasure and satisfaction of being my father - his work will forever be displayed on JennChantal's Patented Movie Review Rating System.

Remember the sheer joy and excitement you experienced during the 2004 JennChantal Awards? Friends battled friends to determine who among them had uttered the most witty, ironic, sarcastic, funny, confusing, or just downright stupid statement of the month. As you cast your vote, you were empowered with the knowledge that you were taking part in something so much bigger than yourself…

So, as I close in on the year and a half anniversary of JennChantal.com, I’m pleased to announce a new contest that is sure to capture the hearts and minds of all my fans.

You’ve admired the quotes, pictures, and lists that weave the story of my life – now you can create a story of your own.

Art Imitates JennChantal is your chance to create art inspired by the daily musings of JennChantal.com. Produce a brilliant piece of art – whether it be a story, poem, haiku, painting, song, rap, film, animation, or whatever else your imagination can conjure – using or based on content from JennChantal.com.

Rules

• Create an original piece of art inspired by the quotes, pictures, lists, or movie reviews on JennChantal.com.
• If your work is digital, email it to me. Non-digital submissions can either be hand delivered (for those of you lucky enough to see me regularly) or mailed (email me and I’ll send you my address).
• Multiple submissions are allowed.
• Deadline for submissions is Thursday, June 30^th.
• I AM THE JUDGE! Bribes will be accepted.
• The winning work will be displayed on JennChantal.com, an honor that far outweighs any kind of monetary gift I could give you…
• However, I know you are all money-hungry. So, the winner will receive a $25 gift card to iTunes, Amazon, or any other online store of his/her choosing. However, I *may* up the ante if I’m not seeing the kind of knock down, blood fest between friends incited during the 2004 JennChantal Awards.
